RAF MuseumNorth London’s RAF Museum is an interesting option for those tourists looking for free things to do in London and is the official museum of the British Royal Air Force. This brilliant display of aircraft history is located in Hendon, on the site of the London Aerodrome, and is one of the essential London attractions with tourists that have an interest in the Armed Forces, as well as those fascinated by aviation.
The Royal Air Force Museum proudly houses over one hundred aircraft. The museum’s highlights include five exhibition halls, each with their own collection of aircraft; the flight simulators (which incur a small charge); the 3D cinema; the 4D theatre; the Dambusters film show; the Aeronauts Interactive Centre; and the Battle of Britain Hall, dedicated to one of the most important events of World War II.
The RAF Museum is just one of several London museums related to the armed forces, with the others including the IWM, HMS Belfast and the National Army Museum.
